I feel so honored to have been able to celebrate Theo’s first birthday—as well as his first cake experience. A rightful passage for all that’s sweet in life. Boy do I miss that gluteny goodness. Happy Birthday Theo!
Spent a grey, fall day at the U.S. Capitol today for some family portraits. A very surreal experience being there during a government shutdown. It’s hard to ignore the beauty of this stunning structure and all of it’s intricate architecture, no matter what is going on inside.
What a wonderful experience to finally see the inside of the building that rests just around the corner from the place I call home these days.
These photos are just the beginning of some very special moments spent with two very special people. Looking at them makes me a proud and happy friend. Here’s to true love and best friends and new friends and a future bursting with fun and joy!

Last night I celebrated with my brother and his friends his recent accomplishment of purchasing his very first place. The condo is located only a few blocks from the Washington National’s stadium and has incredible views of the Capitol and Washington Monument. There really isn’t anything quite like the DC skyline, is there?
